Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
Health Professions
Allows internationally-trained health professionals, who have been working in Saskatchewan
for at least six (6) months under a temporary Work Permit, to apply for landed immigrant
status under the SINP. Sub-categories:
Physicians
- Provide proof of a temporary Work Permit confirming that the applicant has been practicing
as a physician in Saskatchewan for at least six (6) months.
- Have an offer of permanent employment issued by a provincial health authority or
health education.
The SINP will obtain on the applicant's behalf:
- A letter of support from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan
(CoPSS), and if applicable a letter from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons
of Canada.
- A letter of support from Saskatchewan Health.
- A letter of support from the Regional Health Authority.
Supporting Documents:
- Temporary Work Permit: that shows you’ve been practicing as a physician in Saskatchewan
for a minimum of (6) six months.
- Offer of Permanent Employment
- Issued by a provincial health authority;
- Documents describing the applicant's permanent arrangement to practice medicine
(e.g., a business plan or contract), and/or
- An offer of permanent employment from an educational institution where employed.
- Birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce, custody and maintenance documents
(if applicable).
- Education credentials.
- Police report(s) if the applicant or any family member over the age of 18, if applicable.
- Valid Passport with an expiry date (SINP recommended) no less than two years hence.
Nurses
- Provide a photocopy of the applicant's temporary Work Permit confirming that the applicant has been
practicing as a nurse in Saskatchewan for a minimum of six (6) months.
- Have an offer of permanent, full-time employment issued by a Saskatchewan Regional
Health Authority, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency or other publicly-funded health
employer.
The SINP will obtain:
- A letter of support from the appropriate licensing body stating that the applicant has an
unrestricted license to practice in Saskatchewan, from one of the following:
- Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
- Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN)
- Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association (SRNA)
- A letter of support from Saskatchewan Health.
- A letter of support from the applicant's employer stating the applicant's position was posted as per the
relevant collective agreement and remains vacant.
Supporting Documents:
- Temporary Work Permit: this permit must show the applicant has been practicing as
a nurse in Saskatchewan for a minimum of (6) six months.
- Offer of full-time permanent employment issued by a Saskatchewan Regional Health
Authority, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency or another publicly funded health employer.
- Birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce, custody and maintenance documents
(if applicable).
- Education credentials.
- A copy of the applicant's nursing license that allows the applicant to practice as a nurse in Saskatchewan.
- Police report(s) if the applicant or any family member over the age of 18, if applicable.
- Valid Passport with expiry date no less than two years hence.
Other Health Professions
For health professionals working in health occupations
that are supported by the appropriate licensing body (if applicable), Saskatchewan
Health, the appropriate regional health authority or other employer and meet one
of the following criteria:
- Are in the National Occupational Classification Matrix level "A", "B" or "0";
- Require at least one academic year of post-secondary education; or
- Require one year of job specific training.
Eligibility:
- Provide proof of a temporary Work Permit confirming that the applicant has been working in
an approved health occupation in Saskatchewan for a minimum of six months.

Have an offer of permanent employment that is issued by a Saskatchewan Regional
Health Authority, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency or other publicly-funded health
employer.
The SINP will obtain the following on the applicant's behalf:
- A letter of support from the appropriate licensing body.
- A letter of support from Saskatchewan Health.
- A letter of support from the applicant's employer (see #2) indicating that the position you
are being offered was posted as per the relevant collective agreement and remains
vacant.
Submit the following:
- Temporary Work Permit that shows you’ve been practicing as a health professional
in Saskatchewan for a minimum of six (6) months.
- Offer of full-time Permanent Employment issued by a Saskatchewan Regional Health
Authority, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency or another publicly funded health employer.
- Birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce, custody and maintenance documents
(if applicable).
- Education credentials.
- A copy of the applicant's license that allows the applicant to practice in Saskatchewan, current and
unrestricted.
- Police report(s) if the applicant or any family member over the age of 18, if applicable.
- Valid Passport with an expiry date no less than two years hence.
